I like your artwork. However, if there's anything wrong with this piece, there are a few problems here that I can't help but notice: For starters, Luna's bodily fur may need a bit of a trim. She just looks a bit too... fuzzy. The shape/style of Luna's headdress seems reasonable, but its position/perspective leaves a bit to be desired. Unless Luna is winding left, shouldn't one wing be about as high or low as the other as she's flying? Beyond those flaws, however, what I find marvelous are Luna's eyes, gaze, atmosphere, stance and pensive demeanor (gotta love pensive Luna art). Therefore, each quality deserves no less than 3 whole stars for the amount of effort put into this. It's lovely, but I know you can do even better.
Overall, I am very impressed. Your Luna is strongly reminiscent of the show, but your little touches ensure that it can't be mistaken for anything but a hand drawn pony. I find the lighting and edges to be reminiscent of Joseco, but yours has more of a softer, dreamier quality to it (originality score was based on subject matter, not style). I kind of thought the clouds could use more detailing, perhaps mixed in to accentuate depth perception, although this could work well as a blurry camera effect. The moon could definitely use more cratering and shading (nice corona though). I actually liked the amount of stars you put in, it really emphasizes the hazy nature of the sky, plus it matches the density of sparkles in Luna's mane, making it seem truly translucent (my favorite thing about this). I would've liked a stronger contrast against her back and the clouds due to the moonlight; i guess her horn & mane give off light, but it kind of causes a speckled light interplay. The eyes were amazingly done in terms of light (lashes might be a little out of proportion for such a realistic rendering). Angles of the chestpiece and crown seem a little off (and the crescent's position is too), but it definitely doesn't distract from anything else. Good job! ^-^
This is a good work in all, and I love this fuzzy style.
However there's something can still be reconsidered, in my opinion, the composition and balance, and character expression maybe. After all, Luna is the long-banished royal princess of the night, she alone with the moon naturally stand for majesty and/or sorrow. Here you showed us her determination, which is great, but from the atmosphere on the canvas I didn't feel her fortitude. My advice? Wide-angle. Some blank margin will do. I think the concept about emptiness from a traditional Chinese art called ink-and-wash paiting may be used in such sceneries.
